Demolition is often the only option left when an old, dilapidated building is no longer safe for use or has been abandoned. It is best to hire a professional demolition company as they have a team of experts who are experienced in this sector.

Demolition of a building involves several jobs and understandably, these factors affect the total cost of demolition so it's always best to know the total cost of the demolition process before you undertake the project.

Size of the Structure
The first factor that determines the cost of a demolition project is the size of the structure. Demolishing larger structures will call for more equipment, labourers and man-days when compared to smaller structures.
Materials Used in the Structure
All buildings are not made of the same material. Some are made predominantly of wood, others use concrete while others may have stone-work or metal involved.
The cost of demolition will depend on such factors too as it is easier to demolish wooden structures compared to concrete or metal frameworks.
Recently, the Dig It team worked on a fantastic project in Randwick which involved the full demolition of a one-story building, removing brick and timber from the roof, walls, floors and foundations as well as the pathways, patio and courtyard. There was also a detailed excavation to make room for a new two-story dwelling with swimming pool, out building and double garage. Take a look at some snaps below...
