DIG IT Civil recognises that piling is an essential part of any construction project as it provides the crucial support and foundation needed to uphold any building. We understand that piling is especially important when deep excavation is undertaken in the close proximity of neighbouring buildings or the foundation ground is not suitable to support the structure alone.
The piling process cannot begin however until other important factors have been taken into consideration, like the condition of the soil beneath the ground. We will undertake a throughout assessment prior to undertaking any project; assessing soil conditions and depth, depth and diameter of holes required and underlying rock type and providing you an in-depth report outlining our recommendations.
Contiguous Piles & Secant
If your worksite has unstable or saturated ground conditions, or it’s close to adjacent other structures, DIG IT Civil can advise on the best solutions to prevent damage and create the best outcome for your project.
DIG IT Civil has installed many contiguous pile walls in sites that need extra foundations or more underground prevention of water seepage. Contagious piles are a series of closely aligned piles to form a retaining wall. The piles for this type of retaining wall may use either hand augured, machine bored piles or grout-injected piles depending on site-specific conditions. We can install all types of hand augured contiguous piles for the construction of a deep basement, an underground garage or a retaining wall, at the same time setting a strong guaranteed foundation for your development without adding vibration or drilling which would occur if you used machine piling.
If water seepage is of a primary concern, we can advise and execute the installation of secant pile walls. These types of retaining walls make use of a series of interlocking grout injected piles to prevent water table seepage during and after excavation of the site.
CFA Piles (Grout, Concrete Injected)
In ground conditions that might be unstable due to highly saturated soils or low to medium rock strength, DIG IT Civil will recommend the use of grout injected piles. This type of pile involves the injection of a grout and concrete mixture into the hole under pressure as the auger is removed, which then forms the pile. This method is a cost-effective solution for ground conditions in which standard drilling methods are unsuitable or uneconomical.
Capping Beams
DIG IT civil are highly skilled in installing capping beams that form the top “cap” of the finished piers, providing an additional structural support to tie the top of the piles together and form a solid wall.
Shotcreting

Shotcrete is ideal for construction as it has a quick application, high strength, low permeability, while also being durable and strong. Shotcrete is ideal for piled retaining walls, as it introduces rows of ground anchors holding back each excavated level making it long lasting and durable.
